2013 Quilts
February was a busy month. I have been catching up on all my leftover projects Here is my Santa Quilt that I practiced my ruler work on
2012 Quilts
I took a Paper piecing class at the Local Quilt Store, Quilted Threads, and did this Mariners Star Compass. It was so fun and learned so much. The teacher, Mary Derry, is dynamite and really knows her quilting.

A very dear friend of the family travels often to Hawaii to visit friends and family. He is always bringing us Kona coffee, Macadamia nuts and more. I wanted to something specil for him, so I did this Disappearing Nine Patch with random golds and browns and one square of orange.
The backing was a wonderful flannel and the quilting was an all over free motion leaf.

Yes world - the very first large project that I ever tried is finally ready to quilt. This will be for my bed. I want to do some ruler work on this so I have been playing with another quilt to see what I can do before I put this baby on the frame.
So many geese - I think I made almost 200 of these and then chose the best.

Alberta McArdle is a wonderful lady. She turned 92 this year and is the mom of my best friend and was one of my moms best friends. Since my mothers death, she has "kind of" adopted me as daughter #5 and so I wanted to make her something special. These are floating stars done with Pastel tone on tone with a white on white background.
I fondly call this quilt Alberta's Stars
A fun bright backing and a multi-colored binding finished this quilt

Older Quilts
The pink baby quilt was the first quilt I made in 25 years - made it out of "little" triangles and hexagons. Yikes!! TOO MANY pieces!

Son's quilt (on an upstairs bed!). This was the second quilt that I ever did. The design was my own and I sent it out to be quilted. The woman did an amazing job on the quilting bet used a ploy bat - which resulted in the quilt not being very warm. Lesson learned!!
